What's the Scoop on Ottawa High Tech

So, what's going on? Ottawa has a distinguished history of technology innovation, and has weathered technology and economic twists and turns. Where are we today?  Find out about the state of Ottawa high tech - the breadth of market segments addressed by local companies, the role of our educational institutions, what is creating change, and how it's impacted by the current economic downturn.

Come hear our distinguished speaker:

Jim Donnelly - Editor, Ottawa Business Journal
Jim Donnelly has been editor of the Ottawa Business Journal and Ottawa Technology magazine since early 2008, and has been with Transcontinental Media since 2005. He was previously the features editor of Ottawa At Home magazine, entertainment editor at the Ottawa City Journal, and sports editor of the Orleans Star.

Previous to his time at Transcontinental, Jim plied his trade at Ottawa Magazine, the Toronto Sun and, yes, Frank Magazine - all while finding the time to live abroad in the U.K. for one year in 2001-02, and India for six months in early 2005 - both during and following his time at graduate journalism school at Carleton University. He graduated in 2004.

Originally hailing from Parry Sound, Ontario and having attended both Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo and Carleton, Jim now lives in Ottawa. He is passionate about the local business community and tech scene, travel, great music and ice hockey, in no particular order.
