Brasil @ Gatineau: Cursos e serviços oferecidos pela OCCSC em Ottawa

Caros amigos,

Aqui vai uma dica para os recém-chegados a Ottawa e que buscam uma maior participação no mercado de trabalho local, particularmente na sua área profissional. São os serviços oferecidos pelo Centro de Serviços da Comunidade Chinesa de Ottawa (Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre-OCCSC) que não e' voltada apenas para imigrantes chineses, mas a qualquer outra pessoa, independentemente da nacionalidade, que esteja em situação legal para trabalhar no Canadá, especialmente aqueles que são residentes permanentes.

O OCCSC oferece serviços gratuitos como uma série de oficinas para a melhoria de seu currículo profissional, no estilo canadense, e entrevista de emprego; para melhorar os seus conhecimentos das línguas oficiais do Canadá: Inglês e Francês, além de cursos de informática, oficinas especiais sobre a cultura canadense e assistência médica, odontológica e psicológica. Ou seja, OCCSC oferece tudo o que possa contribuir para um "empoderamento" (empowerment) e reconhecimento des suas competências profissionais e as questões que afetam todos os imigrantes, e explicar a todos o que o mercado de trabalho local exige para contratacao, em cada área de trabalho.

Além disso, hà a oferta de dois programas destinados a profissionais de TI e de contabilidade que têm uma taxa de sucesso de 90% em conseguir um emprego após a passagem pelo período de treinamento.

O OCCSC é também um excelente lugar para você começar a trabalhar comovoluntário em Ottawa e em seguida, obter uma carta de recomendação para obter um trabalho efetivo futuro.

O OCCSC também oferece um programa de tutoria especial ("Mentoship" - em que eu atuo como mentor para a empregabilidade nas áreas de comunicação, informatica e internacional) que é voltado para profissionais muito bem qualificados no exterior ("Internationally Educated Professional - IEP" ou "Professional formè á l’étranger - PFÉPFE "), que pode lhe ajudar a encontrar um bom emprego justamente na sua área profissional após a sua chegada no Canadá, ou no período inicial de adaptação ao país, através de técnicas inovadoras em sua procura por emprego, e evitar ter que passar por um trabalho de sobrevivência em primeiro lugar.

IT Workplace Terminology Training * Networking and Communication Skills * Professional Job Placements of Various Lengths * Job Referrals and Information Meetings with Prospective Employers Job Placement Services: Brings together employers in Ottawa and internationally trained newcomers. * Organizes other employment related training and information sessions with local employers and/or employment placement agencies. Language Training: Language Instruction for Newcomers Canada (LINC): Helps newcomers to learn English at different levels of proficiency, to better and faster adapt to the Canadian society. * Field trips * workshops * guest speakers * experts in different fields that provide valuable additional information and knowledge to the LINC participants.
